The OEM design assumes camber will be added. Looking at the mount from behind, the damper shaft and shell case sit at an angle to each other, and that bend creates significant resistance every time the suspension strokes (bump or rebound). The Traction Bracket was developed to greatly reduce that resistance. Testing settled on a 3-degree angle, and it has been tested from 0.5–1.5 degrees positive to 0.5–1.5 degrees negative camber. It also takes less force to turn the shock during installation and length adjustment. Our sponsored drivers felt a big difference just by installing it — a bolt-on part with an immediately noticeable improvement in traction.
