Before you start: which 86 do you have?

• Stage 1 and Stage 2 fit the Scion FR-S, Toyota 86 (ZN6), Subaru BRZ (ZC6) and Toyota GR86 (ZN8). Not for the 2022+ Subaru BRZ (ZD8), which uses aluminum front knuckles.
• Stage 3 and PRO fit all four chassis, including the ZD8 BRZ.
• Stage 1 works with the factory fenders. Stage 2 and up need aftermarket wide front fenders for the extra track width and lock.
• Coilovers are required for every kit.

Modified knuckles need a core

REVERSE BASIC and D-MAX knuckles are machined from a pair of factory front knuckles, so these kits come in two versions:

• New OEM core — we buy a new pair of genuine Toyota knuckles in Japan and send them straight to the builder. Nothing for you to ship.
• Send your own core — you send us the box size and weight, we email you a prepaid label, and your factory knuckles go directly to the builder in Japan. Lead time is longer, and only unmodified, undamaged knuckles can be used.

STAGE 1

Bolt-on angle, stock fenders

The REVERSE BASIC knuckle makes the 86 move like a Silvia — enter backwards from anywhere and get straight back on the throttle. Designed around the factory lower arms and stock rack position, so it is a true bolt-on. Not for the ZD8 BRZ.

Best for: New to drifting, or anyone who wants more angle with stock fenders and a simple install.

STAGE 2

Big angle, wide fenders

Short knuckles with extended lower arms for much more lock. Choose the Kazama Angle Master Kit (no rack modification) or the D-MAX set built the way D-MAX recommends. Not for the ZD8 BRZ.

Best for: Intermediate drivers on wide fenders stepping up from a bolt-on knuckle.

STAGE 3

Maximum angle, stock crossmember

The GP SPORTS G-MASTER Double Short Knuckle Angle Kit — knuckles, roll-center-correcting front lower arms, offset tension rods, rack end adapters and tie rod extensions — with GP SPORTS AO reinforced tie rods and tie rod ends. No core needed. Fits all chassis including ZD8.

Best for: Experienced drivers on wide fenders who want maximum angle and handling without cutting the crossmember.

PRO

Full Wisefab

Wisefab front V2 lock kit with rack relocation and the Wisefab rear V2 suspension drop knuckle kit — front and rear in one order. For competition builds: the front kit requires cutting and welding the crossmember.

Best for: Experienced drivers and competition cars.

Which kit?

• REVERSE BASIC — Built for reverse-entry from anywhere and getting back on the throttle immediately. A bolt-on knuckle for the factory arms. Made to order by hand in Japan.
• Kazama Auto Angle Master — Short knuckles paired with extended lower arms (20mm or 30mm). Big angle with the rack left in place.
• D-MAX DRIFT SPEC — High-angle knuckle for the factory rack, up to approx. 60° of lock, set up with D-MAX lower arms, tension rods, angle adapters and Type R tie rods.
• GP SPORTS Double Short Knuckle — A complete front end that corrects roll center and adds maximum lock while bolting to the factory crossmember.
• Wisefab — Full front and rear competition geometry from Wisefab.

Good to know

• Coilovers are required for every kit.
• Made-to-order parts (REVERSE and D-MAX knuckles) cannot be cancelled or returned once ordered.
