The steering rack boot protects the rack gear from sand and dirt. Steering racks are now very expensive parts. OEM rack boots are rubber, so hardening and aging are unavoidable. On drift cars with modified knuckles and increased steering angle, the boots stretch more than intended and tear easily, so we recommend replacing them with this product made from tough silicone.
