The biggest advantage of RACING SPEC is its remote reservoir. With a separate oil tank, bump (compression) and rebound (extension) damping can be tuned exactly as you want. It holds about twice the oil of conventional dampers, so suspension characteristics barely change even during long sessions or in midsummer heat. It also offers a wide 32-click adjustment range, which lets you control chassis attitude while drifting, minimizing the effect of rough throttle inputs and track bumps — especially useful in tandem runs. Gas pressure can be set lower for a more linear-moving suspension, with smoother initial damping that makes setup easier, and it is less likely to skip over big bumps. Rebound stroke has also been increased by 20mm compared with our D1SPEC to widen setup freedom. Urethane bushings are used at the shock mounts, and the front shocks are rigid inverted units.
