Large front ducts and rear ducts with triple fins efficiently draw out the hot air that builds up in the engine bay while drifting, dramatically improving cooling. Besides lowering oil and coolant temperatures, keeping engine-bay temperatures down also helps prevent sensor failures caused by heat. The carbon hood looks beautiful even unpainted, showing off the strong, continuous fiber structure of carbon. Dry carbon is light, durable and heat-resistant but very vulnerable to UV, so D-MAX hoods are wet carbon, made with polyester resin and air-cured — better suited to street users.
